Tiller Engineering is seeking a Lead Field Engineer to join our team in St. John’s, NL. Established in 2001, we are a regional leader in structural engineering, inspection services, and project management, serving clients in telecommunications, infrastructure, and energy industries throughout Atlantic Canada. Tiller Engineering excels in consulting services for infrastructure, buildings, energy, and telecommunications sectors, providing design, analysis, asset integrity, project management, inspection, and field reports.
Position Summary:
Acts as a lead or secondary for team members when clients request them onsite for engineering,
inspection, or contract administration work. This usually applies to a Sr. Arial Inspector or the Key Accounts
Manager.
Responsibilities:
- Mobilize to worksite to collect information, perform inspections, assess construction, and/or work at a height
Discuss findings with clients and pivotal team members on the project
Write reports and summaries to the clients on the field findings that they analyzed
Coordination of schedules, budgets, and deliverables to clients
Operates as per the Corporate Policy Manual, Safety Management System, and Quality Management System - Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers
- P. Eng., B. Eng., or CET
- Excellent computer proficiency (MS Office – Word, Excel and Outlook)
- Must have class A driver's license and access to a vehicle at all times
- Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service
- Must be able to mobilize to worksite and potentially be on the road for days (in some rare cases, weeks) at a time
- Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices
- Fall Arrest and/or IRATA considered an asset
- Previous experience in the telecommunications sector is considered an asset
- First-Aid considered an Asset
Physical Requirements:
● Ability to perform essential job functions consistently safely and successfully with local and regional engineering codes and standards
● Must be able to lift and carry necessary field equipment
● Must be familiar with all PPE and on-site equipment used for on-site inspection
● Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly on the telephone and communicate through email/Slack
Salary:

$70,000.00 - $98,000.00 (Depending on experience, expertise, and qualifications)

Schedule/Office:
- Full-time, Monday through Friday; some work outside regular workday hours may be required.
- Travel within Atlantic Canada may be necessary.
- Tiller Engineering is headquartered in St. John’s, NL. Office space will be provided if the successful candidate is based in Nova Scotia.
